Covid-19: Here's Latest Rundown Of Dutchess County Cases By Community

Several new COVID-19 fatalities were reported in Dutchess County as the number of active cases has topped 1,000 with the "second wave" of the virus raging throughout the region.

According to the county Department of Health, on Monday, Dec. 7, there were 1,032 active COVID-19 cases in Dutchess, up from 734 as recently as Thursday, Dec. 3.

Late last month, the county was only reporting approximately 200 active cases.

There have now been 8,099 - approximately 500 new this week - confirmed COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began in early March out of more than 300,000 tests administered in Dutchess.

The death toll in Dutchess County has now reached 196 people, up from 192 last week.

Seventy-two patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 51 last week.

  • Poughkeepsie: 71;
  • Wappinger: 68;
  • Poughkeepsie City: 55;
  • LaGrange: 49;
  • Fishkill: 45;
  • Hyde Park: 41;
  • Beacon City: 37;
  • Beekman: 22;
  • Dover: 18;
  • Pleasant Valley: 17;
  • Union Vale: 13;
  • Pawling: 12;
  • Clinton: 11;
  • Wappingers Falls Village: 10;
  • Amenia: 7;
  • Stanford: 7;
  • Rhinebeck: 6.

There are less than five active COVID-19 cases in:

  • Fishkill Village;
  • Milan;
  • Millbrook Village;
  • Millerton Village;
  • North East;
  • Pine Plains;
  • Red Hook;
  • Red Hook Village;
  • Rhinebeck Village;
  • Tivoli Village;
  • Washington.

Statewide, the infection rate in New York’s micro-clusters hit 6.22 percent, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday, Dec. 6, while the overall infection rate in non-micro-clusters was at 4.24 percent.

Overall, the statewide rate reached 4.71 percent as it continues to climb.

Statewide since the pandemic began, 705,827 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 20.6 million who have been tested. There has been a total of 27,149 COVID-19 fatalities since the pandemic began.
